Official Rules
Rule # 1:
These Rules apply to all entrants of this tournament. Violation of any of these rules will warrant appropriate disciplinary action by the tournament director. Any protest must be received in writing within 15 minutes of announced close of the scales. Directors decisions are final in all matters. Acts of nature can affect these rules.
Rule # 2: All State local and federal laws which govern this body of water must be obeyed. Receiving a citation from any local, state or federal officer will be grounds for disqualification.
Rule # 3: All entrants are subject to take a polygraph test. Failure to take and/or pass such a test will result in disqualification. Any person who has failed a polygraph test in connection with any bass tournament will not be eligible.
Rule # 4: Alcohol and narcotics will not be allowed in the possession of contestants during official tournament hours unless prescription medicine. Official tournament hours are defined as from the start of the tournament until all polygraph test have been given.
Rule # 5: Courtesy, safe boating and sportsmanship must be displayed at all times by contestants. A U.S. Coast Guard approved chest type PFD must be on and fastened any time the combustion engine is in gear. All boats must meet U.S. Coast Guard standards. Outboard motors must not exceed boat manufacturers raiting. All boats must have an emergency kill switch which must be attached to the driver any time the combustion engine is in gear.
Rule # 6: All fishing must be done with artificial lures only. Pork is permitted. Only one rod and reel may be used at a time by a contestant. All fish must be caught in a legal and sporting manner from tournament waters during tournament hours. Tracking devices may not be used by contestants during or before the tournament. Hole sitting by or for contestants is not allowed.
Rule # 7: Off Limits Period of the lake for fishing scouting or locating fish will begin at sundown on Sunday prior to the event untill Launch time the morning of the event.
Rule # 8: Boats must be equipped with a live well and an operating aeration system capable of sustaining a tournament limit of bass in releasable condition. Teams may keep no more than 5 bass in their live well. Cull on 6th fish.
Rule # 9: Scoring will be determined by the total weight of not more than 5 bass per team meeting designated size requirements. Fish will be measured on a Pro Rule with mouth closed and tail pinched straight back. Ties for cash prizes will be settled by combining the two cash awards and splitting the difference between the two tied teams. Points will be awarded equally. (Example: Teams tie for 1st place. Combine first and second place money and split the amount between the two teams. The next place paid will be third place).
Rule # 10: No fishing is allowed within 25 yards of another tournament boat without mutual consent. No fishing within 25 yards of any gas pump. No tube, bank or wade fishing is allowed. Contestants may not leave their boat to access water or to obtain fish.
Rule # 11: Trailoring to and from the weigh-in site during tournament hours is not allowed unless permitted by the tournament director for safety or emergency reasons. All fishing must be done from a previously inspected boat.
Rule # 12: Any ramp on tournament waters may be used for launching, however, all boats must report to the host marina (Clarks Marina) for boat inspection and will leave from there in a numbered order under the direction of the tournament director. Check points will be given at take-off briefing and are the responsibility of the contestants. Take-off and weigh-in will be staggered in flights. Late Check-In Will Result in Disqualification. All Time will be Central Standard Atomic Time. (The time on all cell phones in this time zone)
Rule # 13: No more than two persons will be allowed per boat ( with the exception of transporting other contestants to tournament headquarters due to
breakdown or emergency reasons) and all persons in a boat must be registered contestants.
Rule # 14: You may register for tournaments at Clarks Marina, or Bayou Outdoors Super Center, or by mail to Bayou Outdoors Supercenter if post marked no later than Monday prior to the event. Deadline for entering will be Friday at 5:00pm the day before the tournament. Boat positions will be determined for the first tournament by a drawing at Clarks Marina on the Saturday morning of the event. Boat position for the second event will be determined by your finishing position in the first event. (Example: If your team finished the first event in 10th place, your starting position in the second event would be #10. If however, any of the first 9 teams ahead of you do not register for the second event you will move up accordingly). Teams entering the second event that did not enter the first event will be assigned boat numbers as they enter starting behind the last entry from the first event. Your finishing position in the second tournament will determine your starting position in the third event and so on.
Rule # 15: There will be a 1/2 pound (.50) penalty for each dead fish weighed-in. There will be a 1 pound (1.00) penalty for any fish not meeting the 12" minimum length requirement that is presented to the weigh master, plus, the loss of that fish. Contestants catch will not be counted if not checked in by designated check-in time.
Rule # 16: Championship Qualification is determined by accumulated points for the first five events and will include the top 50 teams. Points standings will be determined by an accumulated points and pounds system. First place teams in each event will receive 150 points plus their actual daily weight. Second place teams will receive 149 points plus daily weight, third 148 plus daily weight and so on. Teams not weighing-in will receive 1/2 of the last awarded place points. Any team that wins one of the 5 qualifying events and has fished at least 4 of the 5 events, will qualify for the championship.
Rule # 17: Contestants are responsible for Knowing and understanding these rules.
Rule # 18: This is a team event and a team circuit. Teams may not change or substitue partners. If one team member can not fish an event his partner may fish alone by paying the full entry amount. Persons starting the circuit alone may declair a partner no later than the second event. If no partner has been declaired by the second event, you must finish the circuit without one.
Rule # 19: $100,000 minimum liability insurance will be required for the boat a team or person will be fishing from in each event. Proof will be required and random checks will be done. Failure to provide proof of insurance for the boat you are using at that time will result in dis qualification. I further understand and agree that the tournament director(s) reserve the right to refund my entry fee, if they choose for any reason not to accept my entry. By signing this document, I understand that the decisions of the tournament director(s) are final in all matters and I agree that should I be chosen to submit to a polygraph test and refuse to take said test or am declared to have failed said test by the polygraph examiner, I will be disqualified. I have read and understand these rules and agree to abide by them.
